Practising at Home
parents make sure their child is practising their Kata right at home.

But all members can benefit from these videos and help them jog their memory on a movement they
are not sure of.

The Kata is only a small part of what the students need to know for their grades but it is a very
important part and it is also the part that a lot of students find the hardest to remember when they
want to practise at home.  So this is why I made these short videos to help them practise at home.
Once the students reach Orange Belt with a yellow stripe the next Kata they learn is Heian Shodan.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This first Kata Taikyoku Shodan is for all White Belt students:
Kids class under 8 and under 11 years old
White Belts (new students) only need to learn the first 4 movements of the Kata
White Belts with a red stripe need to know up to the first Kiai (the loud shout)
White Belts with an orange stripe need to know the full Kata.
Orange Belts need to know the full Kata with better technique.
Once the students reach Yellow Belt the next Kata they learn is Heian Nidan.
